About Skydive K-State

Since 1964, the Kansas State University Parachute Club has made thousands of skydives over Kansas, and we are proud to call Abilene home.

Skydive K-State is the Kansas State University Parachute Club, founded in 1964 and based at Abilene Municipal Airport in Kansas. It is the only collegiate parachute club in the United States that owns its own airplane and runs its own drop zone, and it is open to everyone, not just students.

The K-State Parachute Club has been jumping since 1964. We are an officially registered student organization of Kansas State University, and we are the only collegiate parachute club in the United States that owns its own airplane and runs its own dropzone.

You do not have to be a student. We offer solo static line training and tandem jumps to everyone, along with professional exhibition jumps. As a group member dropzone of the United States Parachute Association (USPA), we use only USPA-certified instructors and training methods. Come join the fun.

What we do

Beyond our weekly jump operations for licensed skydivers, we offer:

  • Tandem skydives for first-timers who want the thrill with an instructor. Learn more
  • Solo skydive training toward a USPA license, starting with our First Jump Course. Learn more
  • A home dropzone for experienced jumpers from near and far. Learn more
  • Professional exhibition jumps.

All of our instructors hold instructional ratings with the USPA and have hundreds, if not thousands, of jumps.

Our commitment to safety

Your safety is our primary concern.

  • All instructors are USPA-certified.
  • We use only commercial-rated pilots, many of whom are also certified flight instructors.
  • Our airplane and equipment meet and exceed all FAA and USPA guidelines for skydiving operations.
  • Every reserve parachute is repacked by an FAA-certified rigger every 180 days, even if it was never used.
